The University of Cape Town and various other tertiary institutions are approximately 25 kms from Blouberg.

There are 2 major hospitals, Blaauwberg Net Care and Milnerton Medi-Clinic, and several smaller medi-clinics as well as many medical practices. Some pharmacies and clinics also offer in-house testing services at very reasonable rates. Milnerton Medi-Clinic’s pharmacy is open until 9pm 7 days a week.
